The Shadow an expression of something which is out of balance, expressing 'Too MUCH or too little' of any quality. In many oracle decks, Shadow qualities are denoted through reversed cards.
I am enrolled in the January cohort of SoulCollage® Facilitator training, and a recent teaching included exploring the Shadow.
Reviewing my notes from our small group discussion on the Shadow, I was stuck by a comment on a 'Time' Archetype shadow being 'the procrastinator' ! Oy! That's a 'too little' expression (and one I have a Master's in!! π)
One take away from our discussion is to feel into/ inquire about the Shadow during readings, by asking the Neter a question; perhaps
- 'where can you be out of balance?
- what are you trying to teach me?
- how can I find balance with ____?'
The Healer and 6 of Journies, Healing cards share a message of comforting touch and nurturing. Borage blossoms and leaves symbolize courage to give and receive - it's time to offer or receive healing. Let spirit flow through you.
Herb Woman in the Meadow (Council): I bring gifts of old knowing and childlike curiosity. Put on the kettle and brew up goodness! Gather healing herbs and flowers growing around you, share good medicine!
Potential shadow expressions of the 'healer:' imposter syndrome, feeling b'I'm not a healer.' Or the receiver develops over dependence, feeling disempowered: 'someone else must 'heal" me!'
Issues of too much might include a Know-it-all attitude - without adequate training or experience! There's a potential for harm - if the treatment is incorrect, herb, preparation or dose.
