The Shadow an expression of something which is out of balance, expressing ' Too MUCH or too little ' of any quality. In many oracle decks, Shadow qualities are denoted through reversed cards. I am enrolled in the January cohort of SoulCollage® Facilitator training, and a recent teaching included exploring the Shadow. Reviewing my notes from our small group discussion on the Shadow, I was stuck by a comment on a 'Time' Archetype shadow being 'the procrastinator' ! Oy! That's a 'too little' expression (and one I have a Master's in!! π ) One take away from our discussion is to feel into/ inquire about the Shadow during readings, by asking the Neter a question; perhaps 'where can you be out of balance? what are you trying to teach me? how can I find balance with ____?' In 2008, I ordered a copy of SoulCollage®, by the founder of the method, Seena Frost. ooo, was I excited when it arrived! Hope of the Future card With Seena's book in hand, and mat board for banking, I pulled out the piles of images I'd been gathering & created my first SoulCollage® card ! These 5×8" (or 5x7") cards are large enough to hold several images, while still a manageable size for readings! Up till then, I generally created larger collages, more vision board style, which often incorporated words. In SoulCollage®, we focus on images and rarely include words. After the card was complete, I 'met' it, asking, who are you? ... I AM the one who rises above expectation I AM the one who carries dreams on my back & hope in my heart I soar beyond the hills & canyons, into the sunset of the soul I am the one who reaches into the field of dreams I am the one with wings.
